"How's tricks": Aussie slang for "what's up?" Note: it has absolutely no reference whatsoever to sexual solicitation.
Elton passes by my room. "How's tricks, Camille?"
Me: (thinking it was a joke) "Oh, well business was good last night, so not too bad."
Elton: "What?"
Me: (realized I just said something very, very stupid) "Nothing."
Elton: "Did you think I just called you a prostitute?"
Me: "No."
Elton: " 'How's tricks' means 'what's going on?' "
Me: "Ok."

it's quote unquote flying. asian cockroaches do it too... it's not like real flying, but it's close enough that you don't want to get too close to one (try asking susan about the time she was at my house with lawrence...). cockroaches are one of the hardest things in the world to kill... starve em, smash em, they can survive for awhile. maybe i needs to get you some asian cockroach traps from 99 ranch. what's your address??
I hate bugs! Especially cockroaches!!! If I were there I probably would've jumped on the bed whining, but then again if I were there you'd probably make ME kill the little sucker.
I have my own cockroach story. One time when I was really little(maybe 7) and visiting Taiwan my mom told me to go take a bath and 3 cockroaches crawled out from the drain. I think I got so freaked out I hopped out and ran crying to my mom (being all naked still of course).
Put some boric acid around the area and they'll just slowly die by themselves and don't leave any water around so they'll just die from thirst. OMG be careful with your food cause they carry bacteria that cause different forms of gastroenteritis including food poisoning, dysentery, and diarrhea.... scary!!

seriously tho i HATE cockroaches. i remember i found one in the kitchen last year in our apartment and could barely sleep that night. there are many ways to get rid of cockroaches tho. just do a google search and you'll find a TON.
i would die in a place like that... but i'm glad you are taking it relative well.
